Tea brands market share & AOV on Amazon India

Join Vumonic Datalabs with a cup of tea on Tata Tea’s run on Amazon for the first quarter of 2023. Among the plethora of tea brands available, Tata Tea held the position as a top seller on Amazon from April to June 2023, with a market share of close to 45%. Brands like Nikunj with market shares around 30%, are making strides, but it seems Tata Tea's loyal customer base is not easily swayed. People seem willing to invest more in Tata Tea, with an Average Order Value of 470 INR, compared to Nikunj's 135 INR and Tea Valley's 290 INR.

The top selling products of Tata Tea are:

  1. Tata Tea Premium
  2. Tata Tea Gold Care
  3. Tata Tea Premium Teaveda
  4. Tata Tea Premium Darjeeling
  5. Tata Tea Gold

Brands like Wagh Bakri, Twinings, Ketley Gold, Tea Valley, and Goodricke are making noteworthy strides in gaining popularity. However, it looks like Tata Tea is still the most cherished and trusted tea brand.

Conclusion

We might see a jump in sales in the second quarter of 2023, as Tata relaunched its flagship brand Tata Tea Premium - Street Chais of India that has tea flavours inspired by the streets of India. We’ll be back with a report on this after the end of second quarter, until then enjoy your tea journey with Tata, and savour the rich flavours of India's favourite brew.
