Despite the fluctuating market conditions, some aspects remained consistent. The Average Order Value hovered around 1600 INR, and the average discount offered was nearly 200 INR across both years. This consistency suggests a stable consumer expectation regarding pricing and discounts.
The top-selling cities - Bengaluru, New Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chennai - remained at the forefront of e-commerce sales. The dominance of these metro cities highlights the importance of urban centres as key markets for online retail.
A striking trend is the consumer gravitation towards more economically priced products, with 80% of customers choosing items priced below 1000 INR. This preference indicates a significant market segment that e-commerce platforms can target with budget-friendly options.
