Zomato's chain business kept shrinking through Q2 2026. Swiggy's did not.

Take the ten largest QSR chains and measure what share of each platform's orders they account for. On Swiggy that number was 14.26% in Q2 2025 and 14.24% in Q2 2026. Flat. On Zomato it fell from 11.52% to 9.58%.

That is a 1.94 percentage point erosion in a single year, and it follows the same pattern the Q1 data showed. The direction has now held for two consecutive quarters.

KFC is the sharpest single decline anywhere in the data, and it is happening on both platforms at once. On Swiggy it went from 3.17% of orders to 2.34%, down 0.83 points. On Zomato, 2.20% to 1.49%, down 0.71. It was Swiggy's largest chain in Q2 2025 and is now third, behind Dominos and Burger King.

Everything else diverges by platform. On Swiggy, Burger King gained 0.41 points to 2.51%, Subway gained 0.36, Dominos gained 0.30, and California Burrito gained 0.26 from a small base. On Zomato the same names went the other way: Dominos down 0.31, Burger King down 0.18, Subway down 0.10, McDonald's flat.

Zomato's gainers are a different kind of business. Lunchbox Meals Thalis appeared from nothing to 0.26% of orders. Thalaiva Biryani went from 0.04% to 0.22%. Rollsking, Chowman, Wow China, Punjabi Angithi and Nandhana Palace all added share, none of them more than 0.07 points. These are regional and format-specific operators rather than national QSR brands. The share leaving Zomato's big chains is dispersing into a long tail, not consolidating behind a challenger.

Two listing changes are worth separating from genuine demand shifts. Bakingo went from no presence on Swiggy in Q2 2025 to 0.52% of orders in Q2 2026. NIC Ice Creams and Kwality Walls went the other way, from around 0.4% each to zero.

For a national QSR chain the practical read is that platform performance is no longer symmetric. A brand holding share on Swiggy can be losing it on Zomato in the same quarter, and the aggregate top-10 numbers say that is the norm rather than the exception right now. For a regional operator, Zomato is where the displaced volume is landing.
