Quick commerce continues to shape everyday consumption habits in India, and skincare has emerged as a fast-moving category within online beauty and personal care.

Drawing from Vumonic’s email receipt panel data for March and April 2025 across platforms like Swiggy Instamart and BigBasket, here’s a snapshot of how the skincare category is performing and what it signals about evolving consumer choices.


🔹 Top Brands by Market Share (Volume)

  • Nivea led the category, contributing to around 5% of all skincare volumes.

  • Himalaya and Dettol followed closely, each capturing approximately 4% of the market.

  • Garnier and Ponds rounded out the top five, with about 3–4% share each.

  • The market remains highly fragmented, with many other brands competing for attention.


🔹 Best-Selling Skincare Products (by Value Contribution)

  • Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (Face Wash) stood out, accounting for just over 3% of overall skincare value sales.

  • Other popular items included:

    • Minimalist Salicylic Acid Face Wash (~1%)

    • Epigamia Protein Yogurt (Natural) (~1%)

    • Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (Regular) (~1%)

    • Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser (~1%)

  • Cetaphil’s multiple SKUs in the top ranks show strong traction for dermatologist-recommended products.

  • Ingredient-led and results-focused brands like Minimalist continue to gain trust among skincare-conscious consumers.


🔹 Top Cities by Skincare Sales (Value)

  • Bengaluru led skincare sales, contributing close to 19% of the total value. It also saw the highest average product price among cities, pointing to stronger adoption of premium brands.

  • Delhi followed, contributing around 7% of sales, with a healthy appetite for mid- to high-range products.

  • Mumbai accounted for nearly 5% of sales, maintaining its position as a steady beauty and personal care market.

  • Pune and Gurugram contributed about 3% each, reflecting rising skincare demand in these growing urban hubs.

  • Across all cities, higher-than-average price points indicate consumer willingness to spend more on trusted, effective skincare solutions.


🔹 Top Selling Pincodes (Nykaa Orders)

  • 560100 (Bengaluru)

  • 560068 (Bengaluru)

  • 122022 (Gurugram)

  • 500084 (Hyderabad)

  • 110030 (Delhi)

These top 5 pincodes collectively contributed to around 7% of skincare sales volume on Nykaa. The concentration of orders from Bengaluru and NCR highlights the strength of skincare demand in tech-driven and high-income residential areas.
