Quick commerce continues to redefine how Indian consumers shop for daily essentials, and biscuits remain a constant purchase in online grocery baskets.

Drawing from Vumonic’s email receipt panel data for March and April 2025 across platforms like Swiggy Instamart and BigBasket, here’s a quick look at how the biscuits category is performing and what it reveals about consumer preferences.

🔹 Top Brands by Market Share (Volume)

  • Britannia leads the biscuit segment by a significant margin, capturing nearly a fifth of all sales volume.

  • Sunfeast follows at around half that share, with Cadbury, Parle, and Hide & Seek also featuring among the top five.

  • The data highlights that household names continue to dominate within this everyday category.


🔹 Best-Selling Biscuit Products (Value)

  • Hide & Seek’s chocolate chip cookies emerged as the top contributor in value share.

  • Close behind were Britannia’s Milk Bikis and Sunfeast’s Dark Fantasy Yumfills -- indulgent formats that combine nostalgia and flavor.

  • Also making the list were classic favorites like Good Day Cashew Cookies and Parle-G, suggesting that both premium and budget-friendly SKUs have a steady consumer base.

  • Legacy brands continue to dominate market share.

  • Quick commerce also favors small pack sizes, since sometimes a pack of biscuits is added just to unlock free delivery!

  • Product diversity is key: Nostalgic, yet affordable SKUs all perform well.
