Burger King overtook KFC to become Swiggy's most-ordered chain in Q1 2026, gaining 0.28 pp to reach 2.46% share at an AOV of INR 370. KFC, at INR 649, lost 0.15 pp and fell to third. The pattern repeats further down: Subway, La Pino'z, and California Burrito all gained between 0.15 and 0.16 pp, all priced below INR 500. Pizza Hut was the clearest loser at -0.24 pp despite an AOV of INR 467. The gainers on Swiggy cluster below INR 500. The losers sit above it.

Zomato's chain data is a different picture. Nine of the top 10 chains lost share. McDonald's dropped 0.38 pp to 1.52%, the steepest fall of any top-10 chain on either platform. KFC and Burger King each fell 0.32 pp. Dominos, the largest chain on Zomato at 2.03%, lost 0.17 pp. The Belgian Waffle Co. gained 0.13 pp and was the only chain in the top 10 to grow. Chain share on Zomato is fragmenting toward the long tail of independent restaurants. On Swiggy it is holding better.

Zomato's buyer orders more often. 72.92% repeat rate versus Swiggy's 63.37%. Average orders per user per month of 3.74 vs 3.30, and Zomato's frequency grew while Swiggy's held flat at 3.30 for two consecutive years. AOV on both platforms is nearly identical at INR 440 vs INR 436. For a QSR chain deciding where a ranking investment pays back faster, Zomato's frequency advantage is the number that settles it.
