The single most common Airtel broadband bill this summer was INR 589: the INR 499 plan plus 18% GST. It accounted for 31.3% of all broadband bills in the panel, up from 24.3% a year earlier.
Broadband is also taking a bigger share of what Airtel customers pay for overall. It made up 36.6% of Airtel bills between June and August 2026, against 30.9% in the same months of 2025. Postpaid mobile slipped from 66.4% to 61.7%.

The growth is concentrated at the bottom of the range. Bills for the INR 499 and INR 599 plans together went from 27.8% of broadband bills to 38.8%. The INR 599 plan alone, billed at INR 707 with tax, more than doubled its share, from 3.5% to 7.5%.
The plans above them barely moved. The INR 799, INR 899 and INR 999 plans held a combined 11.7% of bills in 2025 and 11.3% in 2026. Broadband is growing on Airtel, and the growth is coming in at the entry tiers.
Postpaid looks steady by comparison. The INR 699 plan, billed at INR 825, stayed the most common postpaid bill at 8.0%, with the INR 449 plan close behind at 7.2%. The median postpaid bill held at about INR 830.
For anyone selling into Indian homes through a broadband connection, from streaming services to smart-home devices, Airtel's broadband growth is arriving almost entirely through its cheapest plans. The base is widening, but spending per connection isn't rising with it.
